The usher team at First Lutheran Church fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of First Lutheran Church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes.  Along with our website, we also maintain an active Facebook  for additional church communication.



Project Hope

Provides funeral dinners for families and friends on the day of the funeral.

Open Door Food Kitchen

Serves meals to the community 6 Saturdays a year at the Open Door Food Kitchen.

Outreach to people in poverty to guide them in strengthening their work skills in the community.

8th Street Drop In Center

The Drop In Center provides case workers, showers, laundry, and referral services for people living in poverty.  Volunteers work as hospitality volunteers.

Carden Park Elementary

As a business partner to this neighborhood school, we help to provide volunteers for student events through out the school year.

Food For Kids

Partnering with Sheila Gilbert in providing daily lunches to over a hundred children in the neighborhood and community through the summer months.

Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Eugene Lickenbrock and Misty Coyle

Providing leadership development, life skills, teamwork, and healthy relationships with youth and adults.

Prayer is the place of admitting our need and the needs of others, of adopting humility, and acknowledging our dependence upon God. Prayer is the needful practice of all peoples from all over the world. Prayer is the exercise of faith and hope.
